Dr Chris Vella holds a doctorate of laws from the University of Malta and was called to the Bar in 2017. Having obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in International Relations in 2013 and a Diploma of Notary Public in 2014, Chris pursued his studies and subsequently obtained a Doctorate in Laws (LL.D.) in 2016 after submitting a thesis entitled “The Changing Legal Landscape for Concession Contracts in Light of Directive 2014/23/EU”.
Throughout his working practice Chris has gained broad experience across various areas of the law with particular focus on general civil law matters including property law, family law and employment law. Chris has also assisted clients in construction projects and related areas of the law, including public procurement, FIDIC contracts and planning law.
Chris also serves as Chairman of Building and Construction Tribunal and a member of the Adjudicating Panel for Private Residential Leases.
